T.J. Community Mission Foundation to host ‘Awesome 80’s Party’ fundraiser in Cave City

The event will feature live music from Rubik’s Groove, dinner, a live auction, classic arcade games, music trivia and ’80s-themed trivia.

CAVE CITY, Ky. — The T.J. Community Mission Foundation will host an ’80s-themed fundraiser Aug. 22 at the Cave Area Conference Center, with live music, games, an auction and other activities planned throughout the evening.

The “Awesome 80’s Party!” will begin at 5 p.m. and is designed to raise support for the foundation’s efforts to provide access to health care resources in the community.

The event will feature live music from Rubik’s Groove, dinner, a live auction, classic arcade games, music trivia and ’80s-themed trivia.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in ’80s attire or costumes, with competitions planned throughout the night for best ’80s hair, best ’80s costume, a Rubik’s Cube challenge, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, ’80s trivia and an ’80s edition of “The Price Is Right.”

The event schedule includes happy hour and arcade games from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 p.m. The foundation will provide an update on its work at 7 p.m., followed by a live auction from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Live music and arcade games will continue from 8 to 10 p.m.

The foundation is also holding an arcade-themed raffle featuring a retro Ms. Pac-Man tabletop arcade console loaded with classic games and a 9-foot home Skee-Ball machine. The prize has a retail value of $1,150.

The raffle drawing will be held at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Cave Area Conference Center, 502 Mammoth Cave St. in Cave City. Participants do not have to be present to win.

The T.J. Community Mission Foundation said proceeds from the fundraiser will help provide access to health care resources in the community.
