GLASGOW, Ky. — The Barren County Fiscal Court will consider a range of financial, road and public safety matters Tuesday.

The fiscal court is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. Aug. 18.

Among the items on the agenda is approval of the 2026-27 Rural Secondary Program, which will be presented by Terry Williams. The program concerns state-supported secondary roads in the county.

Fiscal court members also are expected to consider a 2027 Litter Abatement Grant Agreement.

The court will consider several invoices as part of its new business agenda, including:

  • $6,004 to Software Management
  • $7,500 to Carr Riggs & Ingram
  • $7,876.37 to Thomas Oil and Fuel
  • $16,832.62 in invoices from Aramark
  • $34,201.88 in invoices from Comprehensive Correctional Care

The Comprehensive Correctional Care invoices are related to services provided at the Barren County Detention Center.

The agenda also includes a discussion of county fire services with Jeff Botts. No additional details were included in the meeting agenda.

Fiscal court members will receive monthly reports from county officials, including July financial, settlement and fee reports from the county judge/executive, county attorney, county clerk and sheriff. The court also will acknowledge the sheriff’s 2026 Certification of Equalized Assessment.

Reports are scheduled from the coroner, county clerk, jail, Parks & Recreation Department, Road Department and Sheriff’s Office.

Several committee meetings listed on the agenda were canceled, including the Building and Property, Economic Development, Emergency Management/Solid Waste, Jail, Parks and Recreation and Transportation committees.

The court also will consider payment of claims, transfers of funds and personnel actions.

The next fiscal court meeting is scheduled for Sept. 8.
