BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Western Kentucky University has named Stephanie Prichard director of WKU Regional Campuses, placing an experienced university administrator with ties to the Glasgow campus in a leadership role overseeing the institution’s regional locations.

Prichard will officially begin the position Nov. 1, following her service as interim director since July. Prichard succeeds Dr. Derick Strode, who was recently selected to become director of The Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science.

As director, Prichard will provide leadership for WKU’s regional campuses in Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Glasgow, Owensboro and Somerset, supporting academic programs, student success and partnerships with the communities those campuses serve.

“Stephanie has a wealth of regional campus experience working with academic programs, advising and community relations, and was instrumental in helping develop the Early College at WKU in Glasgow,” said Rob Hale, associate provost for Faculty & Academic Excellence.

Hale said Prichard brings intelligence, creativity and enthusiasm to the regional campuses and the communities they serve.

Prichard began her career at WKU in Glasgow as campus outreach coordinator after earning her bachelor’s degree in May 2015.

She later served as a senior academic adviser and assistant director of Regional Campuses before being named interim director in July 2026.

Her work has included collaborating with students, community leaders and partners in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System to expand educational opportunities across the region.

“Regional Campuses are at the heart of WKU’s mission to improve the lives of students and elevate the communities we serve,” Prichard said. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead such an outstanding team and excited for all that lies ahead.”

WKU’s regional campuses provide educational opportunities for students across Kentucky, allowing them to pursue university programs while remaining closer to home and their communities.
