GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County officials are seeking qualifications from firms interested in serving as construction manager for the proposed Barren County Agricultural Exposition Center.

According to a public notice issued by the county, statements of qualifications will be accepted until 10 a.m. June 2 at the office of the county judge/executive inside the Barren County Government Center in downtown Glasgow.

The county is looking for experienced and qualified firms to provide construction management services for the development of the new agriculture exposition center.

County officials said the project is currently in the design phase. Architectural services are being provided by Sherman Carter Barnhart.

The anticipated project budget is approximately $20 million, according to the notice.

The agriculture exposition center has been discussed by local leaders as a potential venue for livestock shows, agricultural events and other community activities tied to the region’s farming industry.

When built, it is expected to be adjacent to the Cave Area Conference Center in Cave City. The federal government earmarked millions for the project.
