GLASGOW, Ky. — Fort Williams will host a free Civil War living history presentation June 13–14.

The event will feature reenactors portraying the 9th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment, a Union Army unit organized in Kentucky early in the Civil War in 1861.

The regiment drew many of its soldiers from central Kentucky and served in the Western Theater throughout the conflict.

Event materials describe the program as highlighting Kentucky soldiers who fought for the Union during a deeply divided period in the state’s history.

The encampment will include period artifacts, demonstrations, and interpretive presentations designed to illustrate daily life in a Civil War-era military camp.

Presentations are scheduled at 10, 11 a.m., 1, 2 and 3 p.m. Saturday, and at 10 and 11 a.m. Sunday. The encampment concludes at noon Sunday.
