GLASGOW — Leadership changes, student recognition and a contested board election highlighted the 2026 Farmers RECC Annual Meeting on Thursday at the Cave Area Conference Center.

The cooperative held a drive-thru registration throughout the day, allowing members to register and pick up annual meeting gifts between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

During the meeting, President and CEO Toby Moss announced it would be his final annual meeting with Farmers RECC as he prepares to lead another electric cooperative closer to his family.

Moss reflected on the accomplishments of the cooperative during his tenure, highlighting its continued growth while maintaining its commitment to providing safe, reliable and affordable electric service to members.

He also recognized incoming President and CEO Chuck Bishop, congratulating him as he prepares to assume leadership of the cooperative.

Moss also recognized four students selected for the 2026 Washington Youth Tour, an all-expenses-paid leadership trip to Washington, D.C., sponsored annually by Farmers RECC.

The program allows high school juniors to meet with members of Congress, participate in grassroots leadership activities and visit national monuments and memorials.

This year’s delegates are:

  • Jonathon Ash
  • Jozie Allen
  • Sephora Velcine

The cooperative also announced eight recipients of its annual $1,000 scholarships, awarded through a random drawing to students whose parents, or the students themselves, are Farmers RECC members.

The scholarship recipients are:

  • Addison Davis, daughter of Will and Erica Davis of Hardyville
  • Anderson Slinker, daughter of Todd and Leea Martin Slinker of Horse Cave
  • Aubrey Glass, daughter of Russ and Summer Glass of Edmonton
  • Cameron Crawford, son of Jeff and Christy Crawford of Glasgow
  • Kairi Frazier, daughter of Jimmy and Christine Frazier of Glasgow
  • Mattie Gardner, daughter of Bill and Marla Gardner of Munfordville
  • Olivia Woodcock, daughter of Deloris Flowers of Glasgow
  • Shannon-Kate Matthews, daughter of Rhonda Downard of Clarkson

Jenna Glass, serving as provost and representing the nominating committee, reported that Brandi Williams was unopposed for re-election to the District I Board seat.

Glass also announced the results of the District III board election, where James “Jamie” Moss II defeated Greg Wilson.

According to the cooperative, Moss received 54.5% of the vote, while Wilson received 45.5%. Moss will officially take his seat as District III director at the cooperative’s next Board of Directors meeting.

Bishop then addressed members, expressing his commitment to the cooperative and its member-owners while noting his more than 30 years of service with Farmers RECC.
