GLASGOW, Ky. — Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd and Glasgow City Administrator April Russell, on behalf of Mayor Henry Royse, signed a proclamation Friday morning declaring May 2026 as National Treatment Court Month in Glasgow.

Byrd and Russell joined court leadership in recognizing the role treatment courts play in addressing substance use and mental health challenges.

Treatment courts are designed to provide accountability alongside structured recovery support, offering individuals facing addiction or mental health issues an alternative path focused on rehabilitation and long-term stability.

“These programs continue to make a meaningful impact by connecting people with treatment and support while strengthening public safety and the community as a whole,” according to a post from Barren County government.

The proclamation also recognized those working within treatment court programs and highlighted the ongoing effort to support individuals on the path to recovery and restoration.
