GLASGOW, Ky. — Glasgow City Council members are set to consider a tax incentive request tied to a local business expansion and a rezoning proposal for East Main Street during a special called meeting Tuesday evening.

According to the meeting agenda, council members will hear an ordinance that would allow Sharp Carts LLC to keep 1% of the city’s 1.75% payroll tax on certain employee wages in Glasgow if the company meets requirements connected to its Kentucky Business Investment incentive application.

Council members will also consider a rezoning request for property located at 512 East Main Street. The proposal would change the property’s classification from R-2, a medium-density residential district, to R-4, a medium-density multi-family residential district.

The special called meeting agenda also includes the introduction, oath of office and pinning of a new Glasgow firefighter.

In addition, council members are expected to consider reappointments for Bryan Sorrell to the Glasgow-Barren County Tourist and Convention Commission and Beth Wagner to the Historic Preservation Commission.

The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday inside council chambers on the second floor of the Luska J. Twyman Municipal Building in downtown Glasgow.
