GLASGOW, Ky. — A Metcalfe County man charged with the murders of three teenagers following an October 2025 crash appeared in court Monday with his attorney for a pre-trial hearing.

Asa R. Howard, 18, was present with his attorney, Ken Garrett, for the hearing, which came four days before the six-month anniversary of the fatal crash along Veterans Outer Loop.

The crash claimed the lives of Emily Corbin, 18; William T. Moore, 17; and Charley L. Fancher, 14. Several others were injured.

Howard is charged with three counts of murder, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and one count of first-degree assault, according to an indictment returned in December.

At Monday’s hearing, Commonwealth’s Attorney John Gardner said he had shared discovery in the case with Howard and his attorney. Gardner also said his office has met with the victims’ families to discuss a possible plea agreement.

Gardner said he planned to have a potential offer sent before the next pretrial conference.

The defense is still reviewing discovery in the case, meaning the evidence collected during the investigation. Garrett said he is likely to file a motion seeking additional discovery.

The pre-trial conference lasted less than two minutes.

Another pre-trial conference is scheduled for May 18 at 1 p.m. as the case continues to move forward.

In other news, a vigil is scheduled Friday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the crash site near River Lake Church in Glasgow. The community is invited, according to Betsy Moore, the mother of Toxie Moore, who was killed in the crash.
