FRANKFORT — Kentucky added more than 11,000 new registered voters in June, marking the state's largest monthly increase in voter registration since August 2024, according to Secretary of State Michael Adams.

The state recorded 11,440 new voter registrations during the month.

“Amidst the summer doldrums, voter registration is hot,” Adams said in a statement.

After accounting for voters removed from the rolls, Kentucky’s voter registration increased by a net 6,770 voters in June.

A total of 4,670 voters were removed from the registration rolls, including:

  • 3,576 who were deceased;
  • 542 who moved out of state;
  • 374 convicted felons;
  • 71 duplicate registrations;
  • 65 people adjudged mentally incompetent;
  • 21 identified as non-citizens; and
  • 21 who voluntarily canceled their registrations.

Republicans continue to make up the largest share of Kentucky's registered voters. The party now has 1,620,173 registered voters, or 48% of the electorate, after gaining 5,516 voters in June, a 0.34% increase.

Democrats account for 1,370,786 registered voters, representing 41% of the electorate. Democratic registration declined by 446 voters, a 0.03% decrease during the month.

Voters registered under other political affiliations, including independents, totaled 381,359, making up 11% of Kentucky's electorate. That category grew by 1,700 voters, a 0.44% increase in June.
