GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County Schools officially opened its new Barren County High School Indoor Golf Facility Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the project’s completion.

District leaders, project sponsors, school administrators, coaches, student-athletes and community members gathered May 15 to tour the roughly 1,000-square-foot facility and mark the investment in student athletics.

The new space is designed to support both the Barren County High School and Barren County Middle School golf programs, providing year-round training opportunities regardless of weather conditions, according to a news release.

“This facility creates new opportunities for our students to grow and compete,” BCHS Golf Coach Craig Pippen said. “We’re excited to provide our golfers with access to technology and training tools that will help elevate their game while continuing to build enthusiasm around our golf programs.”

BCHS Assistant Principal Carl Owens, who led the project, said the facility reflects a broader commitment to student opportunity and program growth.

“We wanted to create something that would truly benefit our students and continue growing the game of golf in Barren County,” Owens said. “This facility gives our student-athletes access to year-round training opportunities and technology that will help them compete at a high level while also building excitement for our middle and high school programs. None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our community and industry partners.”
