GLASGOW, Ky. — A Tennessee man has been charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation tied to a Glasgow vape shop that has been under scrutiny for more than a year, according to authorities.

The Glasgow Police Department said Detective Sgt. Aaron Cowan arrested Mina Sadek, 32, on an indictment warrant charging him with trafficking in hemp weighing more than five pounds.

Police said the charge stems from an ongoing investigation into Purple Haze in Glasgow, where officers allege large quantities of prohibited products were being sold to the public from the retail location.

The investigation began in 2024 after police received complaints from parents, school staff and school resource officers about alleged sales to minors.

Mina Sadek, 32, of Tennessee, was arrested last week on an indictment warrant in connection with a Glasgow vape shop investigation that police say involved the sale of large quantities of prohibited products.

Sadek, who police said owned the store, is scheduled to be arraigned June 22. Authorities said the charge is tied to the 2024 investigation.

In Kentucky, trafficking charges involving larger quantities of cannabis or hemp products are treated as felony offenses and can carry potential prison time and fines upon conviction.

Additional details about the arrest were not released.
