GLASGOW, Ky. — A Bowling Green man faces drug trafficking charges in Barren County after Kentucky State Police said methamphetamine and a handgun were found in his possession during an arrest tied to a broader investigation in Warren County.

According to a news release from Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green, troopers received information that led to the arrest of Scotty Deel, 51, of Bowling Green.

Police said a preliminary investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed at Deel’s Warren County residence, where troopers seized 106 marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, a digital scale and multiple firearms.

KSP said Deel was later arrested in Barren County, where methamphetamine and a handgun were allegedly found in his possession.

Deel was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail and faces charges in both Warren and Barren counties.

In Barren County, Deel was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense, with an enhancement.

In Warren County, Deel was charged with cultivating marijuana — five plants or more — first offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, both with enhancements.
