GLASGOW, Ky. — The Glasgow City Council will meet Monday night for its first meeting of April, with several items on the agenda.

Glasgow Police Chief Guy Howie is expected to deliver a presentation. City department leaders routinely provide updates to the council on their departments and ongoing work, though the agenda does not specify what Howie will address.

Two rezoning ordinances are set to come before the council. Both proposals were previously approved by the Joint City-County Planning Commission.

One ordinance would rezone 0.232 acres at 105 and 107 Hillcrest Street and 418 West Front Street from a light industrial district to a small lot medium density residential district.

The second would rezone 2.508 acres at 150 Childress Road from a low density residential district to a medium density multi-family residential district.

Under new business, the council will consider two municipal orders, including one to appoint Sarah Young as city clerk.

Young would succeed Danielle Cashion, who recently stepped down due to personal health reasons. Young is already serving in the role, making Monday’s action a formal appointment.

The council will also consider separating the Stormwater Program Manager role from the Grant Oversight Manager role. Both positions are currently held by April Russell, who said the positions were coupled when she was hired.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held at the Luska J. Twyman Municipal Building. It begins at 6 p.m. on the third floor.
