Capes & Crowns fundraiser set for Sept. 27 in Glasgow
The family-friendly event will benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children.
GLASGOW, Ky. — Local children can dress up as their favorite superheroes and princesses while helping raise money for pediatric rehabilitation programs through an upcoming fundraiser in Glasgow.
T.J. Regional Health’s Rehabilitation Services department will host Capes & Crowns from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, at the T.J. Health Pavilion Community Center, 310 N. L. Rogers Wells Blvd.
The family-friendly event will benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children.
Children and their families are invited to attend in costume. The afternoon will include princess and superhero meet-and-greets, music therapy, crafts, photo opportunities, refreshments and a special gift for each child.
Families do not have to be patients of T.J. Rehabilitation Services to attend.
The fundraiser also highlights the impact the WHAS Crusade for Children has had on pediatric rehabilitation services in the region.
Since 2001, the Crusade has awarded more than $434,000 to T.J. Regional Health’s Pediatric Rehabilitation programs in Barren and Adair counties.
The funding has supported projects and services including an all-inclusive playground, the pediatric rehabilitation program at T.J. Health Columbia, music therapy and other interventions for children.
“Capes & Crowns is our opportunity to create a memorable afternoon for families while giving back to an organization that has supported our pediatric patients for more than two decades,” said Stephanie Smith, director of Rehabilitation Services.
Smith said ticket purchases will help the Crusade continue funding programs that provide resources and opportunities for children.
Tickets are available in advance through the T.J. Regional Health Facebook page, where additional event information will also be posted.
