Chief updates council on injured Glasgow firefighters after house fire
Mayor Henry Royse praised Tinsley’s leadership during the response and recovery.
GLASGOW, Ky. — Glasgow Fire Chief Lucas Tinsley told city leaders Monday night that two of the three firefighters injured in a house fire last week have already returned to work, while a third continues to recover at home.
Tinsley provided the update to the Glasgow City Council just days after the Friday fire, which left three firefighters hurt in the line of duty.
Two of the firefighters were treated and released the same day, Tinsley said, and have since resumed their duties.
“Thank the good Lord for that,” Tinsley said.
Firefighter Chase Dile sustained more significant injuries, according to Tinsley. He was flown from T.J. Samson Hospital to a Nashville hospital Friday morning.

He has since been discharged from the hospital and is recovering at home, though his return to work is expected to take more time.
“They are positive in some of the news they were given as far as the recovery,” Tinsley said. “But it will be a little while yet before he is able to return to work.”
Mayor Henry Royse said the incident served as a sobering reminder of the risks firefighters face.
“It’s a scary thing that happens when one of your own is involved,” Royse said. “I know that everybody is breathing a sigh of relief that he’s very much on the mend.”
Tinsley also highlighted what he described as a strong show of support from the community in the days following the fire.

Chief Tinsley said the Glasgow Fire Department has received a “massive outpouring of community support” through phone calls and prayers.
“From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” Tinsley said.
Royse praised Tinsley’s leadership during the response and recovery.
“Chief Tinsley has been involved. He was by his side every step of the way as far as his treatment goes,” said Mayor Henry Royse.
