Etoile fair celebrates 85 years of community tradition
Vendors and games for children will also be available throughout the day.
ETOILE, Ky. — For 85 years, the Etoile Community Fair has brought the small Barren County community together.
That tradition continues Sept. 12 with a day of activities, including the fair’s classic frog-jumping contests and beauty pageant.
The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a pet show, antique tractor and lawnmower show, baby show and cornhole tournament. A pedal pull will follow at 10 a.m., with the frog-jumping contests beginning at 11 a.m.
The afternoon will include athletic contests at 1 p.m. and a beauty pageant at 3 p.m. A fish fry and auction will begin at 3:30 p.m., followed by a cake walk and Eddy Myers show at 5 p.m.
The day will wrap up with the country ham drawing at 5:55 p.m. and a horse show and stick horse race at 6 p.m.
Vendors and games for children will also be available throughout the day.
The fair will be held at 1111 Caney Fork Road in Etoile, across the street from Caney Fork Missionary Baptist Church.
