GLASGOW, Ky. — The Joyce Driver Aquatic Center opens Saturday in Glasgow, marking the city’s first full-scale aquatic center and moving beyond a traditional city pool.

Glasgow Parks & Recreation said the facility will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The park, located at 805 Happy Valley Road as an addition to American Legion Park, has a capacity of 480.

The center features two large water slides, one open and one enclosed, along with a family slide that fits up to four riders at once.

Other amenities include a climbing wall, lily pad bridge, zero-depth entry water playground, an interactive children’s area, basketball goals for pool play and five lap swim lanes. Shade structures and a picnic area with tables are also available.

Facilities include family restrooms, men’s and women’s locker areas with showers and changing rooms, and a concessions stand offering items such as hot dogs, nachos, pretzel bites, ice cream and Coca-Cola products, along with specialty items like Papa Johns personal pan pizzas, Chick-fil-A sandwiches and Hawaiian shaved ice, according to Parks & Recreation.

Season passes are now on sale. A family pass for four costs $260, which officials said is about $55 per person for the summer. Individual passes are $100, and family passes can be expanded for $50 for each additional family member.

Daily admission is $10 for those 16 and older, $8 for ages 3–15, and $2 for children 2 and under. Military members and seniors pay $5.

Discounted rates apply after 4 p.m. for most age groups.

For comparison, officials noted the price structure is similar to other regional facilities, including Beech Bend and Russell Sims Aquatics Center, while offering a newly built facility.

The city says party rental space will be added in the future.
