GLASGOW, Ky. — Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College will break ground next week on a new Glasgow Health Campus, a project aimed at expanding health care education and workforce training in the region.

The ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. April 30 at the future site just off Exit 8 of the Cumberland Parkway, past Bob Lewis Road along the Veterans Outer Loop.

College officials said the event marks a major step forward in addressing Kentucky’s growing demand for skilled health care professionals.

The new campus is part of a broader investment by the Kentucky General Assembly, which allocated $90 million to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System for capital projects focused on replacing or consolidating outdated facilities and strengthening workforce development statewide.

Scheduled speakers include KCTCS President Ryan Quarles and SKYCTC President and CEO Michelle Trawick, along with local and regional leaders involved in advancing the project.

While the current Glasgow Health Campus has served students for decades, officials said the new facility will offer a modern, state-of-the-art environment designed to support increased enrollment and expanded training opportunities in nursing and other health-related programs.

The current campus is located on State Avenue in Glasgow at the site of a former tuberculosis hospital.
