GLASGOW, Ky. — A proposed second McDonald’s, a new Edmonton State Bank office and a 20-acre apartment development are among three projects the Joint City-County Planning Commission is scheduled to review Monday.

The commission will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 21 at Glasgow City Hall.

McDonald’s

The first development plan involves ATM Media Solutions and Glass Holdings for a proposed McDonald’s at 1305 Trojan Trail, near U.S. 31E.

Local businessman Larry Glass announced the project in June, saying he had signed an agreement with McDonald’s for a new restaurant at the site.

Glass said at the time that the project was expected to be one of 12 new “state-of-the-art prototype stores” planned across the country.

The development plan covers about 1.23 acres. STV prepared the plans.

Glasgow previously had a second McDonald’s inside Walmart, but that restaurant closed during a store remodel several years ago. The only other McDonald’s in Barren County is in Cave City.

Edmonton State Bank

The commission also will consider a final development plan for a new Edmonton State Bank office at 211 Rogers Drive.

The project is part of the bank’s previously announced expansion of its Glasgow campus.

The property, formerly home to Witty’s Muffler and Alignment and the Matthew Stevens Mortgage Team, is owned by the bank. Demolition and site preparation began earlier this year.

Bank officials previously said the new operations center will allow the bank to relocate some existing employees while creating space for future growth and additional hiring.

The project covers about 3.43 acres. Arnold Consulting Engineering Services prepared the plans.

Scenic Lake Apartments

The third project is a final development plan for Scenic Lake Apartments.

Little T LLC, is listed as the applicant and owner. The property is located along Britthaven Drive and in the 1500 block of Cleveland Avenue, or Kentucky 1297.

The project covers about 20.9 acres. Plans were prepared by Van Meter and Slavey.

Public hearing delayed

Originally, the Joint City-County Planning Commission was expected to set aside time for a public hearing on a proposed countywide zoning ordinance being developed for the Barren County Fiscal Court.

The hearing was later postponed to Oct. 19 after delays in the committee process reviewing and drafting the proposed ordinance.
