GLASGOW, Ky. — South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative is rolling out new residential and business fiber internet plans that include faster speeds, lower starting prices and additional Wi-Fi features for customers across its service area.

Under the new pricing announced by the telecommunications cooperative, residential fiber plans will now start at $50 per month for symmetrical 500 Mbps service.

SCRTC said many existing customers will automatically receive faster internet speeds, a lower monthly bill and an included router.

The cooperative's new residential offerings include:

  • Basic Living: 500 Mbps symmetrical service for $50 per month.
  • Everyday Family: 1 Gbps symmetrical service for $70 per month.
  • Power Home: 2.5 Gbps symmetrical service for $90 per month.

Each plan includes professional installation and managed Wi-Fi features.

The 1 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps plans also include a router, while customers can manage their home network through the SCRTC Connect app, which offers parental controls, connected device management and cybersecurity features.

“Our focus has always been on delivering the best experience possible,” SCRTC General Manager Jeff Eaton said. “That means investing in our fiber network, offering competitive pricing, and backing it all with local customer service you can’t get from other national providers.”

SCRTC said the changes are intended to meet increasing household demand as more people work remotely, stream video, play online games and connect smart home devices that require reliable, high-speed internet.

“Many current customers will see an automatic speed increase, a bill decrease and an included router,” SCRTC Marketing Director Christian Kaumanns said. “Fast, affordable internet is vitally important. But having the correct router ensures all the pieces work.”

The cooperative said its managed Wi-Fi service allows customers to monitor network performance, manage connected devices and help protect home networks from online threats.
