GLASGOW, Ky. — Harbor Freight is set to locate in the former JoAnn’s building at Barren River Plaza, according to an announcement made Wednesday.

Harbor Freight is a national retailer specializing in tools, equipment and hardware for automotive, construction, industrial and home improvement use.

Businessman Larry Glass said the project has been years in the making and reflects continued growth in the Glasgow area.

“This has been a project we have worked on for years, and today we are proud to finally see it become a reality,” Glass said.

The new store will be located next to Ruler Foods in the former JoAnn’s space.

Glass said bringing Harbor Freight to Glasgow is “another major step forward for our community” and “a strong sign that businesses continue to see tremendous opportunity in Barren County.”

According to the announcement, the retailer is expected to bring new jobs, employee benefits and additional shopping options to local residents while contributing to economic growth in the area.
