He will face Republican Congressman Andy Barr in November in the race to succeed longtime U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell, who has held the seat for more than four decades after previously serving as Jefferson County judge/executive.
Hosted by the American Red Cross, the drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Glasgow First United Methodist Church’s Family Life Center.
According to event information, both gatherings will feature speakers.
According to a flyer, the event will be held June 16 at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Cave City Community Building, located at 103 Duke St.
Landry Steenbergen, an intern with the tourism office, said the concept is designed to counter the typical summer slowdown for local retailers.
Admission is free, though donations are appreciated. Proceeds will go toward upgrades around the Glasgow Public Square, where the show is held each year.
Once completed, the journals will be added to the library’s local authors section, located near its Kentucky collection downstairs.
